Opening: « Les immatériaux » Aperçus d’une manifestation postmoderne au Centre Pompidou

We are delighted to announce that in the context of the traveling exhibition Matter. Non-Matter. Anti-Matter, the Centre Pompidou presents « Les immatériaux » Aperçus d’une manifestation postmoderne au Centre Pompidou from July 6 to October 30, 2023

The exhibition will showcase The Immaterial Display, a hardware specifically designed for the exploration of the virtual models of the landmark exhibitions Les Immatériaux (Centre Pompidou, 1985) and Iconoclash. Beyond the Image Wars in Science, Religion, and Art (ZKM | Karlsruhe, 2002).

A selection of artworks and artifacts–mainly from the collection of the Centre Pompidou–that attest to a conceptual dematerialization and digital re-materialization of artworks will also be showcased and complement the interactive display.

On July 8, Beyond Matter will be part of the Moviment festival (May 3–July 14) that is being organized by the Centre Pompidou. On this occasion, the organizers and curators of the four-year project will give deeper insight into Beyond Matter. The event will comprise of a series of artist talks as well as a preview of the publication Beyond Matter, Within Space. Curatorial and Art Mediation Techniques on the Verge of Virtual Reality which is due to be published in July.
