Online Seminar: Co-designing VR Experiences

Online Seminar: Co-designing VR Experiences

In the auditorium of the Design Museum, two installations »Matter, Non-Matter, Anti-Matter. Past Exhibitions as Digital Experiences«
and »Pop-up VR Museum« based on virtual reality will be on display and used as platform for co-design for one week (17 – 22 May, 2022). Here you can study how past museum exhibitions can be revisited virtually and test what playfulness can add to the experience of iconic design objects in a digitally created environment.

On Thursday, 19 May, from 10:00 AM Helsinki, a hybrid discussion will be held and will debate important questions raised by the two installations. Beyond Matter project will be represented by the head of the project, curator at ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, Livia Nolasco-Rózsás that will open up a conversation with Marcella Lista and Julie Champion Lagadec from Centre Pompidou and with Lily Diaz-Kommonen and Cvijeta Miljak from Aalto University.

From 12:30 AM Livia Nolasco-Rózsás will present the interactive installation “Immaterial Display” that invites audiences to revisit the two landmark past exhibitions Les Immatériaux (Centre Pompidou 1985) and Iconoclash (ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe 2002) in a novel way via two browser-based models presented in a custom-made immersive display through which a connection between virtual space and real space is established.
