Iconoclash Exhibition Scenography

2002/2022

The scenography of the Iconoclash exhibition was designed by the Austrian architect and exhibition designer Manfred Wolff-Plottegg. He can be considered a pioneer in using computer-aided architectural design programs (CAAD ), evidenced by the fact that since the mid-1980s, he has held various teaching positions for experimental architecture, computer conception, and CAAD. For the design of Iconoclash, he also worked with this software in order to model the complex exhibition scenography three-dimensionally and in the correct relationship to the space available, since a wide variety of scenographic elements were distributed over several levels.
The installation presents a tour through these digital drafts of the spatial constellations as they were later realized in Atria 8 and 9 of the ZKM | Karlsruhe.
